This event is the second half of our circular living celebration following on from the Big Day of Circular Living Ideas in March, 2025. It will focus on food and gardens.

The event aims to raise awareness and invite community participation to explore how to garden to reduce waste, to combat climate change, to improve our soils, air and water quality and to encourage a culture of sharing our surpluses and building community resilience.

It will be a day of demonstrations, discussions, workshops and activities focussed on home and community food production and also seeking to engage with the plant nursery industry, to explore ‘plastic-free gardening’. The event will be both engaging and challenging. It will be in the Kickstart Arts community centre, a place that is such a wonderful embodiment of sustainable living values and next door to a thriving community garden and native plant nursery.

Volunteer With Us

Harvesting Connections is powered by community — and our volunteers make it possible.

We’re seeking friendly, reliable people to help create a welcoming and inspiring experience for all. Roles include:

  • Bump In / Bump Out Crew – help set up before the event and pack down afterwards.
  • Wayfinding Support – guide guests around the site and ensure everyone finds their way.
  • General Floater – keep an eye on site presentation, assist volunteers, and support operations as needed.
  • Venue Support Host – care for and maintain designated forum or activity spaces, keeping them tidy, reset, and ready for each session.

If you care about sustainable food systems, community connection, and creating meaningful experiences, we’d love to have you on the team.

Join us as a volunteer and be part of Harvesting Connections!

GET INVOLVED

We’re seeking exhibitors, workshop facilitators and contributors who are passionate about regenerative practices, plastic-free gardening, knowledge sharing and building local food systems. Opportunities include hosting a stall, running a workshop or demonstration, contributing to discussions, or sharing practical tools and ideas with the community.

This is a highly participatory event designed to inspire action, connection and collaboration. We welcome experienced practitioners as well as grassroots initiatives with practical, hands-on approaches.
